Welcome to Amateur Radio Community Service!
Who are we?
We are a group of dedicated volunteers ready and willing to assist with backup communications for a variety of non-emergency community events. We can provide communications where no system currently exists, or augment current systems. We can act as another set of watchful eyes whenever there is a large gathering of the general public, to augment existing security crews.
We have radio gear and expertise at portable operation which allows us to locate wherever the help is needed. Most of us are federally-licensed Amateur Radio Operators. Many of us are also trained in various Emergency Radio skills, such as Canwarn weather spotting, or Amateur Radio Emergency Service (ARES). We dedicate many hours and a lot of personal monies into equipment to help us provide both Emergency communications, as well as non-emergency A.R.C.S. communications.
Among our list of equipment:
-
Command Center trailer
-
Two portable tower trailers, for mounting various antennae
-
A large variety of stationary, mobile and handheld radio gear
-
Generators, batteries, solar panels and various other sources of power
-
Computers, laptops, netbooks and various software including radio interlink software
-
Mobile service vehicle
Our list is always growing. As time goes on, we acquire more equipment to help us provide a better service. It is our passion to use our hobby to assist our fellow residents, and to that end, we're constantly striving to improve ourselves.
We can help augment communications for a variety of events, such as:
- Festivals and Fairs
- Bicycle races; Marathons; other large sporting events
- Fireworks displays
- Parades
There is no fee for our services. Under the federal laws governing the Amateur Radio hobby, we cannot accept monies for using Amateur Radio as a service to others. We do this to service our community and it's residents, and to enjoy our hobby to an even greater extent.
If you have an upcoming large event that you feel could use our help, don't hesitate to call upon us.

Yes, we know about the ads. The stream is fed by a "free" site, which has ads to pay for the service. If you'd prefer a feed without ads, you can help us with the costs for our own streaming server... ;)
